Sted: FAFO
Researchers at Fafo: Line Eldring (project leader) and Åsmund Arup Seip
Partners: FAOS, University of Copenhagen and Uppsala University
Funded by the Nordic Council of Ministries.
The objective of the project is to undertake a comparative analysis of regulative frameworks for, strategies to attract and effects of high skill immigration of Third Country Nationals to the Nordic countries. A particular focus is placed on regulatory developments vis-à-vis immigration of high skilled Third Country Nationals, and a mapping of political objectives and strategies in this regard. Although the study will focus on the recruitment of engineers, the analysis of regulative frameworks will more broadly consider the conditions under which the recruitment of high skilled labour takes place in the Nordic countries. The project aims to strengthen the Nordic dimension of labour immigration policy, as well as to further develop cooperation between Nordic engineering organisations and researchers on the issue of labour migration.
