Why do young single asylum seekers migrate and what conditions determine their choice of country
Place: FAFO
Project leader: Cecilie Øien
In the last few years the number of young single asylum seekers coming to Norway has increased considerably. Fafo is currently undertaking a study about this group. Children and youth who migrate can be vulnerable both during their journeys and in Norway. With more knowledge about the background for their migration one can take measures to counter their vulnerability and situation in Norway, in the best possible way.
Funding: Norwegian Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion
Duration: December 2009 to April/May 2010
